Block Party 2017: Teletext Is The Future, Cambridge
Britain’s first ever dedicated teletext art/editing event was held at the Centre for Computing History on 25 and 26 February 2017.
Visitors took part in collaborative editing workshops and competitions, learned how teletext can be recovered from video cassette, viewed a specially-prepared BBC Micro demo screening, and experimented with real teletext hardware.
The event was attended by the following artists:
- Dan Farrimond, teletext artist in residence at ARD Text in 2016
- Steve Horsley, designer at Teletext Ltd in the mid-90s
- Raquel Meyers, winner of the International Teletext Art Festival Lifetime Achievement Award 2015
- Mort Smith, first salaried employee of Ceefax
